48-HOUR OUTLOOK

The center of Hurricane Miriam was located at 14.1 north and 140.2
west and moving west at around 8 pm. This general motion and forward
speed is forecast to continue through Friday until Miriam is
forecast to speed up and begin moving west-northwest to northwest.

Maximum sustained winds associated with Miriam remains at 75 mph,
with higher gusts. Some slight additional strengthening is possible
for the next day or so before Miriam is forecast to become a
tropical storm by Friday evening.

The estimated central pressure of Miriam is 988 mb.
